Business Mission to Cuba

Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO)
& United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
in cooperation with the Embassy of Cuba to Slovakia and the Embassy
of Slovakia to Cuba invite you to participate in a Business Mission to Cuba
'Packaging, Waste and Water Technologies for Cuba'.

Aim of the mission

• business roundtable for Slovak companies to boost bilateral dialogue and networking
• identification of the potential joint business opportunities involving trade, investment, and the transfer of know-how and technology with a special focus on abovementioned industries

 
Program
The program will be tailored to the necessities of the present industries including:

• roundtables with Ministry of Commerce and Foreign Investment of Cuba, Ministry of Industries of Cuba
• meetings with other relevant partners as Ministries, Business Groups, Chamber of Commerce, Special Development Zone office and local equity holders in Cuba,
• field visits and meetings with province stakeholders of Cuba.

 
Participation fee for participants
The participation in the mission is free of charge for Slovak entrepreneurs from relevant industries. Participants take care of their own travel costs to Cuba – flights, accommodation in Cuba. The flights and accommodation of participants will be coordinated by SARIO and UNIDO.

All the organizational costs and assistance between, during and after the mission will be covered from the project resources of UNIDO, including costs of meetings, conferences, roundtables, costs of international and national experts and the transfers at the territory.
 
Participant's package (FREE OF CHARGE)
Following services and technical support will be provided to participants:

• Market research, prefeasibility studies and financial and economic investment analysis of the identified business opportunities in the priority sectors developed.
• Implementation of UNIDO’s Computer Model for Feasibility Analysis and Reporting (COMFAR)
• Identification of financing instruments and application of scalable results-oriented business solutions to implement proposals in the selected sectors.

Following assistance will be provided:

• Preparatory seminar – SARIO Business Breakfast before the mission
• Acquisition of visa
• Suggestions of flights, hotels in Cuba and reservations
• Transfers in Cuba
• Translation Spanish-Slovak-English provided
• Accompanying program
• Full assistance at the territory

 
Framework of the mission
The mission is organized within the UNIDO Country Programming Framework for Cuba 2016-2020 “Strengthening alliances for promoting investment and SMEs cooperation between Cuba and the Slovak Republic in priority sectors” with the following objectives:

• Facilitate close dialog among national representatives, SMEs and all relevant stakeholders;
• Identify potential for partnership and business opportunities to scale up technical cooperation services;
• Provide instruments for international strategic trade alliances;
• Improve international investment opportunities; and
• Develop market research, feasibility studies and investment agreements.

Other events and assistance will be provided within the project which is to take place between September 2016 – July 2017.
