Business mission to Brazil

SARIO in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Brazil, organized a business mission accompanying the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico, during his official state visit to Brazil from December 10 to 12, 2024. The business mission included 17 Slovak companies and 4 institutions, for which a 3-day working program was prepared. 

On the first day, representatives of the Slovak companies attended a series of lectures on the legal and business environment in Brazil. Some entrepreneurs from the defense and aerospace industries had a meeting with representatives of ABIMDE - the Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Materials Industries. In the afternoon, the business delegation was received by the advisor for international relations of the Governor of São Paulo State, Pedro Lagonegro, and the vice president of the InvestSP agency.

On the morning of the second day, an event titled the Brazilian-Slovak Business Forum took place, organized in cooperation with the local partner Fiesp - the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo. The forum was opened by speeches by Prime Minister of the SR Robert Fico and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the SR Denisa Saková. The investment and business environment in Slovakia was presented by the director of the investment projects department at SARIO, Tomáš Salíni. During the FIESP presentation, Slovak companies learned more about doing business in São Paulo State.

In the afternoon, an event titled the Brazil-Slovak Matchmaking Event was held, opened by Egon Zorád, the director of the Foreign Trade Department at SARIO. Gustavo Fernandes welcomed the participants on behalf of the local partner agency, ApexBrasil. This was followed by B2B negotiations, during which Slovak companies had the opportunity to establish new business partnerships. Companies from the defense and aerospace industries conducted separate B2B negotiations focused on that sector, organized in collaboration with PIT – Parque De Inovação Tecnológica in São José dos Campos.

On the last day, Slovak companies toured the Embraer facility, a world-renowned manufacturer of commercial and military aircraft. These aircraft are used by companies such as Austrian Airlines, American Airlines, Finnair, and many others. During the visit, Slovak companies from the sector had the opportunity to present their portfolio of products and services and subsequently had the chance to tour several production halls.
