GlobalTags News Cooperation events SMEs Slovakia The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bratislava, organized the Czech-Slovak Business Forum 2024 in Žilina. The event aimed to foster business collaboration between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from both countries and create new opportunities for their international expansion.The forum provided a platform for establishing personal contacts and strengthening business relations. A total of 63 companies participated, including 22 international firms from industries such as engineering, electrical engineering, energy, ecology, food production, and information and communication technologies. Participants held 215 bilateral meetings, underscoring a strong interest in further developing business partnerships.The event was officially opened by Rudolf Jindrák, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Slovakia, who emphasized the importance of continuous communication at the highest governmental levels. Róbert Šimončič, Director General of SARIO, highlighted the uniqueness of Czech-Slovak cooperation: “The cooperation between Slovakia and the Czech Republic is unique due to our shared history and geographical proximity. The Czech-Slovak Business Forum is a great example of how these factors can effectively connect companies, develop their business activities and potential, and contribute to the economic growth of both countries.” The bilateral meetings allowed companies to present their solutions, seek partners for future projects, gain new business contacts, and create new business opportunities.The event was organized as part of the national project "Support for the Internationalization of SMEs 2," which is part of "Program Slovakia", focusing on enhancing the sustainable growth and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises. Co-organizers of the event included the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the Regional Chambers of Commerce of Moravia-Silesia, Zlín, and Olomouc regions, the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Brno, Czech Trade Slovakia, and the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Žilina.
