Doing Business with Tunisia

Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Cairo (accredited to Tunisia), the Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic in Tunisia, the Honorary Consulate of Tunisia in the Slovak Republic, and the Slovakia-Tunisia Chamber of Commerce, organized a webinar called 'Doing Business with Tunisia' on October 24, 2024.

The participants of the webinar were welcomed by the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Cairo, L. Miháliková, who outlined the political and economic developments in the region.

The history and prospects of economic development in Tunisia were presented by the Honorary Consul of Tunisia in the Slovak Republic, P. Rapšík, whose presentation was followed by the Chairman of the Slovakia-Tunisia Chamber of Commerce, H. Ben Zineb.

He provided information about the agencies and organizations in Tunisia that can assist Slovak companies in establishing a presence in this market. He further highlighted various sectors of the Tunisian economy that offer opportunities for developing mutual trade relations with the Slovak Republic.

According to the Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Tunisia, C. Elbehi, the fintech sector has significant potential, with Tunisian partners being open to collaboration with Slovak companies. The Economic Counsellor of the Slovak Republic in Cairo, M. Dostál, addressed numerous practical questions regarding investment incentives, as well as tax and customs barriers to trading with Tunisia.

The services and assistance for trading with Tunisia were presented by M. Šársky, the Director of the International Relations Department of the Eximbanka SR.
