Investment seminar and business mission to Madrid

On 29th-30th November 2023, Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Madrid and the Czech-Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, organized an investment seminar and business mission to Madrid.

The investment seminar, which was attended by 40 people, was opened by the ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Madrid, Juraj Tomaga. During his speech, he highlighted the cooperation between the two countries, mentioned successfully established Spanish investors in Slovakia, as well as introduced Slovak innovative companies that participated in the business mission, namely: Sensoneo, Sorry we can, Hilbi Health, Patak Motors, Pulsa work, Sygic and VD Engineering .

Subsequently, senior consultant of investment projects, Stanislava Plascencia Lubinová, presented investment potential of Slovakia focused on automotive industry, electronics and ICT. The presentation was followed by success story of Gestamp, a Spanish investor from automotive industry established in Nitra. On the other hand, a short success story was also presented by the Spanish branch of the Slovak IT security company ESET.

The first part of the event continued with a business forum introduced by Dominika Horská, consultant of Foreign Trade Department. 7 innovative Slovak companies (Hilbi Health, Patak Motors, Pulsa work, Sensoneo, Sorry we can, Sygic and VD Engineering) firstly introduced their business through short presentations. After that, all the above-mentioned companies had a chance to attend pre-arranged negotiations with potential Spanish partners. In total, there were 44 B2B meetings during the business forum.

During the following day, the business mission was hosted by Madrid Trade Confederation CEIM, which brings together companies operating in Madrid, and by Madrid Investment Association MIA, acting as Madrid's investment agency. The business mission was concluded with a discussion with Finnovating – an AI platform connecting companies and investors with fintech startups.
