SARIO provided assistance to the new Italian investor — Meta System

The Italian company Meta System has established a Slovak entity Meta System Slovakia in Trnava, where the assembly of onboard chargers (OBC) for automotive should start as early as of March 2024.

For more than 45 years of its existence, the Italian company has been performing its business activities in e-mobility, security (protection modules for convertible vehicles), and telematics.

After a public tender from the German BMW plant, where Meta System ended up as a successful supplier of onboard chargers, the Italian investor decided to establish a new entity in Trnava. During the decision-making process, in addition to Slovakia, Poland, and Southern Italy were also considered as potential locations for their future production facility.

Consultants of the SARIO's Investment Projects Department have been in contact with the company's representatives since July 2022, when the investor was supported by an analysis of suitable real estate, as well as by multiple consultations of the investment incentives scheme.

Furthermore, during the cooperation with Meta System, SARIO organized several site visits including meetings with HR agencies or Trnava Self-Governing Region to discuss the availability of workforce, the potential of the Trnava Region, and, last but not least, the dual education scheme. 

After signing the contract for the production of onboard chargers for BMW, the company established a new legal entity in Slovakia — Meta System Slovakia and subsequently applied for investment aid. In the application for investment incentives, the new investor indicated a plan to invest 157 million EUR and create 494 new jobs in total.
