SARIO Services and Results in Košice Impressed

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) was the main partner of the SlovakiaTech 2024 event in Košice. The topics of the 6th edition of this international conference and innovation technology fair included digital technologies, climate solutions, home innovations, and the future of transport.

Over the course of two days, experts, company representatives, scientists, and enthusiasts gathered to share their experiences and knowledge about technological trends and to explore opportunities for collaboration. SARIO contributed with engaging programs, provided consultations in the fields of investment and export support, and showcased attractive exhibits related to the space economy.

  • Roadmap to Mobility with Zero Emissions
Marek Kopanický from the Department of Investment Projects participated in a discussion that cross-sectionally addressed topics such as energy, transport, investments, and innovation. He outlined the current status of Slovakia and presented the investments SARIO has successfully attracted in recent years, along with the key factors influencing investors’ decisions regarding location. He also highlighted various benefits that investors bring, beyond the creation of new jobs.
  • How Does SARIO Help Companies Establish Themselves in Foreign Markets?
In a panel discussion led by Adam Csuka from SARIO’s Foreign Trade Department, Slovak companies specializing in cybersecurity, hologram development, and artificial intelligence shared their success stories. They discussed their experiences with SARIO’s export services and tools, which helped them succeed in foreign markets. The discussion emphasized the importance of SARIO’s pro-export services and included suggestions for further improvements.
  • Build and Program a Satellite in the CANSAT Competition
Representatives of the industrial division of the Slovak Space Agency, a part of SARIO, presented opportunities for involvement in the space sector, both at the business level and through educational and popularization activities for students and the general public. Lenka Tkáčová’s presentation on the CANSAT competition, in which high school students develop a satellite the size of a can, received a very positive response from the audience.

In addition to their active participation in the event, SARIO consultants held numerous working meetings with representatives of public institutions and companies, providing visitors with comprehensive information about SARIO’s services. Among students, the space agenda was particularly popular, while companies were mainly interested in the current opportunities for supporting their export activities in Europe and beyond, with some already having utilized SARIO’s services in the past.

The final report from the SlovakiaTech 2024 event will be available soon on the organizer’s website.
