On 29 January 2020, the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) organized a seminar for the business community called “Great Britain: Your business partner”. The aim of the seminar was to provide information on the possibilities of trading and entering the UK market, taking into account its specificities and the organization of future trade relations with the EU. These topics and subsequent consultations were approached by the representatives of the Embassy of Great Britain in Slovakia and the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic.The participants also received valuable information on the preparations for Brexit by the Netherlands and the conditions to be prepared if the main routes to Great Britain lead directly via that country. This topic was discussed by Willemijn van der Toorn, the Regional Coordinator for Brexit from the Embassy of Netherlands in Vienna. Additionally, alternative transport options to diversify the risk were introduced.The seminar was attended by approximately 30 participants mainly from the field of logistics, construction and IT.
