Shandong Business Days in Slovakia


On July 2-3, 2014 Slovak – Sino Chamber of Commerce (SCOK) in cooperation with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Shandong (CCPIT Shandong) organized a two-day business and investment forum Shandong Business Days in order to encourage Chinese companies and investors to invest in Slovakia.

The first day of the forum took place in Trencin and the Chairman of the Self-Governing Region of Trencin Jaroslav Baska welcomed the participants at the premises of Trencin Castle. After the introduction of business environment in Trencin region, the Chinese and Slovak entrepreneurs had an opportunity to discuss their investment plans also during the sightseeing and cultural programme on castle.
The second day of the forum in Bratislava was officially opened by the Chairman of Slovak – Sino Chamber of Commerce and the former ambassador of Slovak Republic to Beijing Peter Paulen at the premises of the historical building of the National Council of Slovak Republic.

Deputy of the Embassy of the People‘ s Republic of China in Bratislava Wang Jinsong, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Peter Burian and Vice-Chairman of CCPIT Shandong Song Geping discussed the possibilities of mutual Slovak-China cooperation.

Afterwards, Head of Foreign Trade Department of SARIO Tibor Bucek and consultant of SARIO Slavomira Lenhardtova introduced investment and business potential of Slovakia as well as investment opportunities for Chinese investors in Slovakia.

The forum continued with the bilateral negotiations of 20 Chinese and 30 Slovak companies from various sectors of economy, especially mechanical engineering, transport, logistics and trade. The memorandum of understanding between SCOK and CCPIT Shandong was signed by the parties.

The following meeting will be held in Shandong province at the largest exhibition of green renewable energy projects which are also very popular among Chinese investors.
