Slovak-Finnish Business Forum Focused on Decarbonization in the Construction Industry

On June 14, 2024, the Slovak-Finnish Business Forum centered on decarbonization in the construction industry took place in Bratislava. Organized by the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) in collaboration with Business Finland and the company Solved, and under the auspices of the Finnish Embassy in Prague, this event provided a platform for Slovak and Finnish companies to forge new business relationships and collaborations in sustainable technologies.

The forum saw the participation of 13 Slovak companies, engaging in 60 B2B meetings with Finnish partners. These meetings offered a unique opportunity to exchange experiences, present innovative solutions, and seek partners for future projects.

The event's program featured expert lectures, discussions, and presentations on the latest trends and technologies in decarbonization. Participants had the chance to hear from experts from both countries, who presented the newest technologies and innovations in green construction. Key topics included reducing the carbon footprint in the construction industry, utilizing renewable energy sources, and implementing modern construction techniques that minimize environmental impact.

Finnish companies brought extensive experience and advanced technologies to the forum, providing inspiration for Slovak companies. Finland is renowned for its focus on sustainability and innovative construction approaches, which can help accelerate the implementation of green technologies in Slovakia. Slovak companies, in turn, showcased their achievements and innovative solutions that contribute to reducing the carbon footprint and increasing energy efficiency.

The Slovak-Finnish business forum also facilitated informal meetings and discussions, fostering the creation of new partnerships and collaborations. Participants had the opportunity to establish contacts that could lead to specific projects and joint initiatives in the future. As the main organizer, SARIO emphasizes supporting Slovak companies in their efforts towards international expansion and the implementation of sustainable solutions. Cooperation with Business Finland and the Finnish Embassy in Prague underscores the strong interest in developing bilateral relations between Slovakia and Finland and supporting innovative projects that contribute to environmental protection.

Notable Finnish companies represented at the forum included YIT, Peikko, Ains Group, Lumon, and Kontio.
