Slovak Industry VISION Day welcomed almost 200 companies

The international business forum Slovak Industry VISION Day welcomed almost 200 companies

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) prepared under the auspices of the Slovak Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, the international business forum Slovak Industry VISION Day, which welcomed almost 200 companies and institutions in Šamorín on November 24, 2022.

Slovak Industry VISION Day was dedicated to Industry 5.0 – opportunities, inspirations and business negotiations. Thematically, it reflected on the current situation and in an attractive way supported the development of industry, the growth of the competitiveness of our companies and the economy, as well as provided a presentation space for both beginners and experienced innovators.

"Technology and the need to implement innovations in production and processes are an essential part of our lives. In this regard, at the SARIO agency, we have been proactively and systematically not only raising awareness for many years, but especially creating specific platforms and implementing activities, such as this event," said Róbert Šimončič, CEO of SARIO, in his opening speech.

The forum started with a discussion between the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Petr Švec, and  Robert Šimončič, CEO of SARIO "What does the mega-investment of the VOLVO car company bring to the country."

"Investments in the automotive industry are very welcome because they are among the most complex. In addition to the actual final production in the automobile plant, they tie together a huge number of suppliers in the country. With one car company, we can talk about a hundred subcontractors, but also about a large number of services from education to recycling. In Slovakia, we can therefore look forward to being one of the world's great powers when it comes to car production, and we also welcome the new investment represented by the incoming Volvo Cars Slovakia," said Peter Švec, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic.

The opening discussion was followed by Björn Helldén, Head of Volvo Car Košice, who presented plans for a future climate-neutral factory in Slovakia. Representatives of the VOLVO project in Slovakia also negotiated with potential Slovak suppliers during the Slovak Industry VISION Day.

The business forum offered a space for networking for almost 200 registered companies from fourteen countries, new opportunities for cooperation, professional discussions on attractive topics such as reducing energy costs for production, the use of artificial intelligence in energy, the use of drones in industry, and opportunities for Slovak companies to be involved in the space sector and ESA projects.

Slovak companies were also able to obtain specific information about the projects of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, about the projects of the Norwegian Funds in Slovakia, as well as about sustainable financing, which was presented to the participants by the long-time general partner of the event Československá obchodná banka (ČSOB).

"We can consider the financial sector as a catalyst for change and a necessary pillar in the transition to a green economy. Companies are facing big challenges, how to transform their functioning, in parallel with solving the negative impacts of economic development. Because greening and business innovation is no longer a matter of choice, but a matter of time. Together with our shareholder, the Belgian KBC group, we have been working for a long time on how we can help companies and entrepreneurs on this path with our solutions, and I am glad that we can be a reliable and relevant partner for them in this regard as well," said Daniel Kollar, CEO of ČSOB in this regard. .

During the whole day, the event was complemented by exhibits from Slovak innovative technology companies such as Fuergy - electricity consumption management, Elis - leak detection for geomembranes, Inovuj - digital therapist, Panza Robotics - robot for dangerous operations, Patak Motors roadster and others.
