Slovak-Luxembourg cooperation within the space sector

The online event held in collaboration with the Luxembourg Space Agency contributed in identifying numerous prospective areas for space industry cooperation between twenty companies.

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) – Slovak Space Office organised an online matchmaking event together with the Luxembourg Space Agency, networking together 20 companies operating in the space industry of both countries. Based on the pre-indicated interest form the Luxembourg Space Agency, the Slovak Republic was represented by the companies 3IPK, AB Merit, CTRL, Decent, M2M Solutions, MASAM, Needronix, Spacemanic, Spinea, and Touch4IT. These companies operate in various areas of activities related to the space economy, including for example, satellite hardware development, communication and ground station technology, robotics, data analysis and software applications, or industrial logistics.

The interest of Luxembourg companies demonstrates that the Slovak space sector is becoming a valuable partner for the European space industry. This reflects the rapid growth in recent years by the Slovak industry, supported by recently acquired associate membership of Slovakia in the European Space Agency (ESA). This associate membership is significantly expanding opportunities for industrial cooperation and allowing our companies to fully participate within the European Space consortia.

This matchmaking event was first-of-its-kind since Slovakia's associate membership in ESA came into force in October 2022. Despite the different sizes and volumes of investments, the Slovak and Luxembourg space sectors share many common features and technology areas. These attributes create good prospects for future business cooperation.
