On March 12, 2025, the Slovak Tech Conference in San Francisco brought together over 130 leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors from the Slovak and U.S. tech ecosystems. Organized by Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency, Slovak PRO, Startup Awards SK and Lumus, the event showcased Slovakia’s emerging tech scene and its potential for innovation, investment, and business growth.

The Slovak Startup Awards winners - TrollWall, Ekolive, Nordics.io, and Grizzly Ski - took the stage to present their breakthrough solutions in AI, sustainability, cybersecurity, and sports tech. Their success reinforced the message that Slovakia is not only fostering world-class talent but also building companies capable of competing on the global stage.

Vladimír Lackovič, Special Representative to the U.S. for Trade and Investment at SARIO, outlined why Slovakia is an increasingly attractive destination for global business. While the country holds a strong position in manufacturing, automotive, defense, ICT, and business service centers, he emphasized Slovakia’s growing potential in robotics, biotech, life sciences, and other high-tech industries. With a highly skilled workforce, strong infrastructure, a stable and open economy, and abundant energy resources, Slovakia is positioning itself as a prime location for companies looking to expand in Europe. Discussions throughout the conference reflected this sentiment, as Slovak and U.S. professionals explored new collaboration and investment opportunities, highlighting Slovakia’s increasing visibility as an innovation-driven economy.
