Slovak-Ukrainian Business Forum in Uzhgorod, Ukraine

On November 7th, 2022, Slovak-Ukrainian business forum took place in Uzhgorod, Ukraine. The event was opened by Karel Hirman, Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic and in the online format, Olha Stefanišyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine joined as well. During the official part of the program, the contribution of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) was also delivered. SARIO presented the possibilities of assistance for Ukrainian companies in the search for Slovak suppliers as well as the commercial possibilities in relocation projects.
 
Ukrainian entrepreneurs have identified Slovakia as one of the important partners in stabilizing the supply chain, especially in the field of engineering, as this sector has been significantly affected by the military conflict and associated sanctions. One of the central topics, in addition to the current situation in Ukraine, was the willingness and readiness of Slovak companies to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
 
The event was attended by as  many as 49 Slovak companies and entities that expressed interest in the development of cooperation with Ukrainian entities. In total, there were in total 84 B2B meetings between Slovak companies and their Ukrainian counterparts. The result of B2B meetings consists in establishing or expanding business cooperation in such areas as engineering, ICT, construction and the agricultural sector.
