Slovak-Uzbek Business Forum

On August 8th, 2023, the Slovak-Uzbek Business Forum took place on the premises of Park Inn Hotel by Radisson Danube in Bratislava. The event was organized by the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Vienna. 

The event was held on the occasion of the official visit of Oybek Chamraev, the Deputy Minister of Investments, Trade and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Umid Mamadamidov, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 

The participants of the forum were welcomed by Ľudovít Černák, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Slovakia, followed by the opening of the forum by Peter Švec, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, and Róbert Šimončič, the CEO of the SARIO agency. 

Amongst the 13 Uzbek participants of the business environment, there were also representatives of the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the IT Park of Uzbekistan, the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry as well as the Uzeltexsanoat electrotechnical association. 

As many as 35 Slovak companies represented sectors, in particular, such as energy, engineering, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. In addition to 72 B2B meetings, there were also B2G meetings pertaining to the planned investment projects of Slovak companies in the Republic of Uzbekistan. 

Participating companies positively evaluated the organization of the forum under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and the SARIO agency, which provided them with a concrete opportunity to establish contacts within this territory with a great deal of potential for the development of foreign trade relations.
