Slovakia as a Partner Country at the VIROEXPO 2025 in Croatia

This year, Slovakia participated as the partner country at the 28th Trade Fair for Economy, Crafts, and Agriculture – VIROEXPO 2025, held from February 14–16, 2025, in the Croatian city of Virovitica. The Slovak pavilion at the fair was organized by the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Zagreb and the Croatian-Slovak Business Chamber.

VIROEXPO is one of the most important regional trade fairs in Croatia, focusing on agriculture, the food industry, and manufacturing. Each year, it attracts both local and international exhibitors, offering them a great platform to showcase their products and services, find business opportunities, and form new partnerships. 

The Slovak pavilion was officially opened in the presence of key representatives from Slovakia and Croatia, Michal Kaliňák, State Secretary of the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development, and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, Hana Kováčová, Ambassador of Slovakia to Croatia, David Vlajčić, Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, Igor Andrović, Prefect of Virovitica-Podravina County and Ivica Kirin, Mayor of Virovitica.

Seven Slovak companies from the agriculture, engineering, food, and cosmetics sectors showcased their products and services at the Slovak pavilion. These companies had the chance to present their offerings, build new business connections, and explore opportunities to enter the Croatian market. 

Slovakia received an award for its participation and outstanding contribution to the development of the VIROEXPO trade fair.

Networking Event and B2B meetings

Before the trade fair, a networking event took place at the Technical Innovation Center in Virovitica organized in collaboration with the Croatian Chamber of Economy - Virovitica County Chamber. A total of 10 Slovak and 13 Croatian companies participated, engaging in more than 30 pre-arranged B2B meetings. In addition to business representatives, local government officials were also present, discussing potential cooperation and opportunities for business growth. The meetings focused on exploring new business prospects and building fresh partnerships.

The program also included a presentation on business and investment environment of Slovakia. Silvia Radovanović, Foreign Trade Consultant at SARIO, outlined possibilities for trade cooperation and investment in Slovakia. Mario Gržinić, President of the Croatian-Slovak Business Chamber, introduced the Chamber’s role in developing bilateral business relations and provided an overview of Slovak companies present at the forum.
