GlobalTags News Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency Investments Foreign trade On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic (MH SR), in cooperation with the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), hosted the largest-ever event for the diplomatic community at the ministry’s premises — 'Discover Slovakia: Economic & Investment Insights for Diplomatic Missions.'The event aimed to present Slovakia as an attractive investment destination and a reliable business partner, with a special focus on strategic sectors and economic cooperation opportunities. Nearly 100 ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from more than 60 countries accredited to Slovakia participated in the event.'Slovakia is an open economy with a strong export sector. Active economic diplomacy and support for strategic investments are key to our competitiveness and long-term economic stability. We want to provide our diplomatic partners with a comprehensive overview of investment and business opportunities that Slovakia offers,' emphasized Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Denisa Saková.The Ministry of Economy and SARIO presented Slovakia as an attractive investment destination with a highly skilled workforce, a strong industrial base, and a stable business environment.'The idea behind today’s event is to showcase Slovakia as we see it—from the perspective of investments and bilateral cooperation. We would be pleased if this message reaches the countries represented by our diplomatic guests. Our goal is to further expand trade and investment relations with partners worldwide. Slovakia is ready to welcome new investors, support innovation, and foster international cooperation, contributing to the country's long-term economic prosperity,' said State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Vladimír Šimoňák.During the event, diplomatic representatives were introduced to Slovakia’s key competitive advantages, including:A stable business environment and membership in the EurozoneA strong industrial base with global competitivenessDeveloped supply chains in the automotive, electronics, and IT sectorsA highly skilled workforce with competitive labor costsReliable energy infrastructure, including a stable electricity grid and a low-carbon energy mix'SARIO is a key partner for investors and operates as a one-stop shop. We provide tailored, comprehensive services to both incoming and established investors—from market entry assistance and site selection to identifying supplier networks and local partners. Additionally, we offer detailed guidance on state support options. Over the past two decades, SARIO has successfully completed nearly 700 investment projects, leading to the creation of more than 150,000 new jobs,' said Róbert Šimončič, CEO of SARIO.The Ministry of Economy and SARIO are not only focused on attracting foreign investments but also actively supporting Slovak entrepreneurs in expanding into foreign markets. Through business missions and participation in international trade fairs, they open doors for Slovak companies and help them establish a presence abroad. In the past year alone, the Ministry of Economy and SARIO organized 29 business missions to 25 countries worldwide, including the United States, Brazil, Turkey, China, and South Korea, with the participation of 682 business representatives. In 2024 alone, 96 Slovak companies took part in eight international trade fairs.
