SARIO has long strived to support the growth of investments with higher added value and to proactively respond to the challenges facing companies in Slovakia.
One of the challenges is the low availability of a skilled workforce, which could be a barrier to the development of innovative companies and hinders the transition to a knowledge-based economy and industry 4.0.

Despite the quality work of teachers, the skills of graduates do not sufficiently reflect the needs of the labor market, which is a consequence of insufficient cooperation between universities and practice. Universities as well as small and medium-sized enterprises often lack the human resources and finances to develop mutual relations and cooperation. That is why the SARIO agency is developing its agenda focused on connecting academia with practice, to suppoort the technology trasfer.
 
The main idea of ​​the project 
Support for establishing cooperation between companies and the academic environment. Bring new partnerships, internship opportunities for students, contacts and positive publicity.
 
Project goals

• increasing the transfer of technology and research from the academy to practice 
• stimulation of innovations in Slovak companies
• improving the practical skills of graduates to reflect market requirements

How does it work ?
SARIO will match the submitted topics from companies with faculties and organize matchmaking events, where researchers, professors and students will have the opportunity to establish direct contact with companies and start cooperation. All services are provided free of charge.

THE SLOVAK CENTER OF SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER OFFICE

The Slovak Center of Scientific and Technical Information Technology Transfer Office (SCSTI TTO) * is a workplace with nationwide activities focused on providing support in the areas of protection and commercial exploitation of industrial property and connecting the academic sphere with the private sector.

Activities and services of SCSTI TTO are focused on two basic target groups:
1) academia R&D institutions – universities, Slovak Academy of Sciences, national research institutes,
2) business entities and public.

For the Slovak entrepreneurs and public we provide free of charge services including search information and consulting services regarding intellectual property and cooperation with academia in the field of R&D.
For foreign business entities we provide free of charge service of finding R&D partners from the Slovak academia environment.

Innovative activities involving research and development carried out for future commercial exploitation require considerable investment in time and money. In order to avoid duplication of scientific research work and not to infringe the rights of third parties, it is recommended to perform a search in (available/published) data/information/literature…. If you do not have your own capacity for a specific research task, you can contact academic institutions with a request for cooperation. Science for practice
At Slovak universities, the Slovak Academy of Sciences and departmental research institutes, researchers working on research projects in various fields of science and technology use their skills along with years of experience to create promising innovations for practice on a daily basis.

The SCSTI Technology Transfer Office supports various ways to spread awareness of the capabilities and know-how of scientific teams, and one significant option of promoting science from Slovak scientific and research institutions is the Slovak Cooperation Exchange. By supporting participation in the event, research teams are given the opportunity to present their competencies, ready-made technologies and ongoing projects to the private sector and thus increase the chances of putting their work into practice.
